           As material culture, architecture including it elements, sculptural ornaments and a physical form of a city convey ideas, beliefs, values, norms, and technological aspects of societies. This course is designed to study “Naga” or “Nak” one of the prominent architectural elements, which can commonly be found in Buddhist temples in Thailand. Through material culture study, the course addresses the notion of “Naga” and its narratives regarding materiality, forms, context and symbolic meanings in the field of Architecture and Urban Design.
